Do I need to use my kit as soon as I receive it? Do sample collection kits expire?

The vivaBALANCE collection kits have an expiration date that is up to six (6) months after original purchase date. We recommend completing the collection process and submitting your sample(s) to vivaLAB's testing facilities, as soon as you are able to do so. 

To complete the testing process: 

• Complete the lifestyle assessment which may take between 20-30 minutes to complete online; 
• Collect your sample(s) stool and urine; 
• Mail your test sample(s) to vivaLAB's testing facilities. Your stool sample(s) will remain preserved for up to four weeks while in transit. The urine sample will need to be received within 7 days of completing collection.  

If there are any problems after the lab receives your sample(s), vivaLAB will contact you with next steps, which may require a replacement test kit to collect new sample(s).
